Dear Sir or Madam:
My name is Ruben Gaytan Lemus and I am proud to recommend my friend and mentor, Lenny Rivera, as Judge for the Court of Common Pleas of Chester County. As a first generation immigrant, Yale graduate, and supply chain professional, I strongly believe in the values of determination, hard work, and excellence. Lenny shares these values and I am confident that he will demonstrate them as a judge.
In Lenny I have found a mentor who has inspired me and countless others to pursue opportunities. I first met Lenny when I participated in an undergraduate internship with the law firm, MacElree Harvey, to help his team with Spanish marketing and translation efforts. As a student at Yale at the time, I was excited to meet another Latino who had pursued educational opportunities and who was making an impact in the community. Working with Lenny, I found a friend who has consistently offered valuable advice and encouragement. Studying at Yale was challenging, but with Lenny’s guidance and encouragement, I gained the energy and motivation needed to dream big. It was that same inspiration that eventually helped me to earn another undergraduate internship, this time at the US Supreme Court with the Honorable Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Lenny’s words can certainly instill confidence!
Over the past decade of knowing Lenny I have also been impressed by his capacity to lead, to foster collaboration, and to deliver results. As a current supply chain data analyst at a French-American gas company, I am tasked with delivering insights and solutions to support our directors with supply chain improvements. In this role, leadership and collaboration are essential and I often think back to Lenny’s efforts in the community and in the legal practice. Lenny had the vision to create Chester County’s first ever Latino networking group which over the years has united Latino professionals from all backgrounds to exchange business ideas and to support community scholarship programs. Furthermore, with over 30 years of experiences in matters of business, criminal, and immigration law, Lenny has demonstrated to me and others what it means to build expertise and deliver professional service. The role of judge demands a high caliber of leadership, knowledge, and professionalism, all qualities that Lenny has acquired.
Furthermore, Chester County has a unique story because of its diversity of cultures and beliefs, but with that unique experience comes a responsibility to make sure that everyone is treated with equality and respect. I believe Chester County needs a judge who understands the community and has a proven track record of engaging with all of its members. In the current climate of divisive politics and fractured communities, I know that Lenny can rise up to the challenge as a steadfast leader capable of delivering judicial service to the entire community. In the process, I am certain he will continue to inspire other youths in the community to aim big and more importantly to give back to the community. Thank you for your time. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further support.
Best regards,
Ruben Gaytan Lemus
